TYPICAL CLASS STRUCTURE
Warm Up – 20 minutes
Exercises that incorporate combat technique including cardio and strength.
Technique – 20 minutes
All the positions and variations of the BJJ technique (e.g. takedown, chokes, armbar, escapes, flips…)
Combat Drills – 15 minutes
Each person tries to submit the opponent.
Summary – 5 minutes
Review and discussion about the lessons of the day.
LEARN SELF DEFENSE THROUGH BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
In class, we will focus on ground fighting techniques and submission holds including joint locks and chokeholds. We will aim to get the opponent to the ground through the appropriate grappling technique and try to maneuver our movements so that the opponent has to submit. This is one of the hallmarks of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, achieving this position and being able to defend yourself from the ground, and from a top position. Some of the techniques we will practice include: takedowns, chokes, armbars, escapes, flips, and sweeps.
MENTAL & PHYSICAL STRENGTH
Learning this technique will not only increase your discipline and focus, but you will start to notice great changes in your strength and stamina as well.
